Radiodetection | Pipe & Cable Locator | Sondes

Sondes

Used to locate buried plastic Water Pipes, Gas Pipes and any other non-magnetic utility, Sondes are self-contained transmitters that are used with our cable and pipe locators.
Sondes are typically attached to a Flexrod, pushed along the pipe, and the position of the sonde detected from above ground. The Flexitrace product allows the entire path of the pipe to be located, rather than just the end. Blockages can be located by pushing until the sonde stops, and then locating that position.
Our comprehensive user guide covers Radiodetection’s range of sondes and associated accessories, including Flexrods and FlexiTraces, which can be used in tracing the paths of pipes, ducts, sewers and drains, and in the precise location of blockages or collapses. Check the sonde frequency to ensure that it can be detected by your Radiodetection cable and pipe locator or cable avoidance tool.
Bendi Sonde 512Hz
A 3-section sonde, locatable to 19' (6m) and measuring 0.9 x 18.8" (23 x 478mm), for improved flexibility around pipe and duct corners. Supplied with M10 male end cap.
S6 MicroSonde Kit 33kHz
The S6 MicroSonde is a very small transmitter designed to allow operators to trace and detect blockages in even very small buried pipes and ducting.
With a diameter of only 6.4mm / ¼”, it is particularly suitable for tracing blockages in fiber-optic microducting or for tracing other small non-conductive pipes.
Locatable to 6.5' (2m) and measuring 0.25 x 3.5" (6.4 x 88mm). Supplied as a kit that includes sonde, flexible adaptor, 2 batteries and case.

S9 MiniSonde 33kHz
The S9 MiniSonde is a small 9mm (0.35”) diameter transmitter designed to be inserted into non-metallic pipes or ducts, and enables operators to trace the route of small diameter pipes or ducts and to precisely locate any blockages.
The flexibility of the S9 Minisonde allows the sonde to travel around bends or pass existing cables, while durable design and construction helps to protect the S9 Minisonde from damage when travelling around bends or when encountering obstacles within the duct. The S9 MiniSonde is the ideal accessory for small diameter ducts, where flexibility and strength are required.
Locatable to 13' (4m) and measuring 0.35 x 5.4" (9 x 138mm). Supplied as a kit that includes sonde, 2 batteries and case.

S13 Sonde Kit 33kHz
Small Conduit and Duct Sonde - 13mmS13: a ½” (13mm) diameter sonde for narrow ducts and conduits. The S13 Super Small Sonde is designed to be used for tracing the paths of non-metallic pipes, ducts, sewers and drains, and in the precise location of blockages and collapses. The S13 sonde transmits a locate frequency at 33kHz, making it compatible with most Radiodetection Cable and Pipe locators, including the RD8100 Precision Locator range and the C.A.T4 Cable Avoidance Tool range.Telecoms industryWith an ever increasing demand for telecommunications, utility companies are increasing the utilization of existing ducts by inserting more and more fibre and metallic cables, resulting in ducts becoming more crowded. The S13 sonde, with a diameter of ½” (12.7mm) is designed to pass through such narrow channels, enabling field technicians to detect and trace their path. Smaller diameter ducts are often used to install fiber optic cables to homes and businesses. To check for blockages along the duct, the S13 sonde can be jetted or blown through the duct, making the S13 sonde ideal for applications where size restricts the use of larger sonde
S18 Sonde 33kHz
Small sonde for pipes and ducts - 18mm.
This is a self-contained, battery-operated sonde, measuring 0.70" x 3.22" (18mm x 82mm). It can be connected to a Flexrod for locating pipes and ducting etc. It transmits on 33kHz and can be normally located to a maximum depth of 13' (4m).
Part No: 10/SONDE-S18A-33
Standard Sonde
Compact Sonde with a strong signal.
This is a self-contained battery operated sonde, measuring 1.53" x 4.13" (39mm x 105mm). It can be connected to a flexrod for locating pipes and ducting etc. Available in 3 frequencies with a locate depth of 16' (5m).
512Hz, 8kHz and 33kHz.
Part No: 10/SONDE-STD-XX (XX= 512, 8, 33)
Sewer Sonde 33kHz
Standard Sewer Sonde
This is a self-contained, battery-operated sonde, measuring 2.51" x 6.61" (64mm x 168mm). It can be connected to a Flexrod for locating pipes and ducting etc. It transmits on 33kHz and can be normally located to a maximum depth of 26' (8m).
Part No: 10/SONDE-SEWER-33

Flexitrace, Tx-Energised Pushrod
The FlexiTrace reel holds 164'(50m) or 260’ (80m) of small diameter rod. The rod itself can be energised by a Radiodetection transmitter* or Genny and inserted into pipes as small as 12mm. It is used with a Radiodetection locator or C.A.T to find and trace small diameter plastic pipes etc. Unlike using a sonde with a Flexrod, the entire length of the Flexitrace can be detected from above ground.

Flexrod
The Flexrod reel holds 197' or 394' (60m or 120m) fibreglass rod used for tracing pipes and ducting etc. The rod is used to propel Radiodetection sondes which can be located and traced with a Radiodetection locator or Cable Avoidance Tool.
