The integrity of buried pipelines is of paramount importance for safety, environmental and cost reasons. Radiodetection provides a range of Pipeline Integrity products such as Pipeline Current Mappers, for identifying and locating weaknesses in pipeline coatings, and Smart Interrupters, to enable surveys of pipelines using Cathodic Protection Systems
PCMx
Radiodetection’s PCMx system enables corrosion and Cathodic Protection System (CPS) professionals to evaluate the condition and effectiveness of pipeline coatings. Users can locate faults and holidays in the coatings, and identify shorts caused by contact to other structures. Our portable 25W transmitter represents a major advance in portability and usability.
PCMx enables pipeline managers to identify and prioritise preventative maintenance on pipelines; extending asset life by identifying possible sources of corrosion at an early stage.
The system can be used to conduct ACCA and ACVG surveys in accordance with ANSI/NACE SP0502-2010 ‘Standard Practice for Pipeline External Corrosion Direct Assessment Methodology’. These surveys, which may be conducted separately or simultaneously, can be used to locate and pinpoint coating defects or identify shorts made by contacts with other structures.
Removal of the detachable foot leaves a fully-featured RD8100PDLG pipe and cable locator. Depth of cover and GPS positional data is also captured.

SI 50 and SI 100 Smart Interrupters
Pipeline integrity and corrosion control
SI 50 and SI 100 are Solid State Cathodic Protection Interrupters for pipeline technicians.Smart Interrupters can be used to modulate the Cathodic Protection (CP) signal to aid identification of stray currents, as well as enabling the location of coating defects along the pipeline. Radiodetection's SI 50 and SI 100 feature high current switching capability, with circuit protection and user programmability.
Features:
- Fully microprocessor controlled, automatically stores the last ten used setups and stores up to 10 Waveforms.
- On/Off ranges between 0 to 100 seconds.
- GPS synchronization as standard; permits synchronization of any number of interrupters remote from each other and permits 24hr timer operation.
- The Smart Interrupter can be used as conventional 50A or 100A interrupters as well as generating unique signatures for the Radiodetection Stray Current Mapper (SCM) system.
